Takeovers contain three key components:

1. Wallpaper
2. SPON
3. LREC

Properties supporting takeovers:

Applicable to the home pages of the properties listed below. The only exception is Sport whereby the takeover can run on the Sport home page and category home pages e.g. Football, Rugby etc.

Wallpaper specification:

• Single wallpaper image should be 1280px wide to accommodate nearly every screen size in common use. This does not mean that all browsers will show all of the wallpaper content, as some users have lower browser resolutions – the content you want to display to the highest amount of users should be contained within the 137 pixel gutters on either side of the page (see below). You must include a transparent bleed at the edges to blend in with the site background.
• Video property guidelines:
• The featured content that you want to display to the highest amount of users should be contained within the 137px gutters on either side of the page but also 160px down from the top of the image.

Additional information:
There is the option to change the colour of certain page components for Sports properties. This applies to the main navigation of the page and the headline news headers. The required hex code should be provided according to the colour palette. Hex code should also be provided for the page background.

Submission Guidelines:
Creative submissions should include the following:

• Advertiser name
• Yahoo! Insertion Order number
• Detailed trafficking instructions
• Flash files
• Backup images
• Wallpaper image
• Hex code (if applicable)
• Display URL to landing site
• 3rd party tracking (if applicable)

All takeover ads must be submitted to Yahoo! 5 days prior to campaign launch or possible delay may occur. Contact your Sales Representative for additional details.

Property Takeovers with Exspondo Module

Available on Movies, Sports, TV and Music properties.

The exSpondo format is initiated on click and it expands downwards pushing down the page content revealing an area which can be used to place video content or other flash content such as, for example, a game or a flash file with links to downloadable files.

Weights, sizes and deliverables:

1- Initial unexpanded file:

• Formats: Swf and Gif (backup)
• Size:
• Movies property: 750x60 pixels
• Sports, TV and Music properties: 974x60 pixels
• Please note: on the TV property there will be a 3 pixels gap between the exspondo ad and the wallpaper at each side, which should be taken in consideration at design stage.

• Max weight flash: 40k. Maw weight backup GIF: 40k.
• Flash version: 8 or 9, AS2

This initial unexpanded asset should contain a call to action to open the exSpondo (eg: view trailer, or click to open/expand). The remaining area can either click through or expand. An Expand tab might be added, Yahoo! can provide it by adapting a standard one.

2- Expanded file:

(This will be initiated on click of the unexpanded asset).

• Size:
• Movies property: 750x300 pixels
• Sports, TV and Music properties: 974x300 pixels

A 40k flash or gif “skin” should be provided for the exSpondo. In case the exspondo loads more than one file in itself the skin should contain navigation buttons.

The exSpondo should include a clearly visible close button, if missing it will be added by Yahoo!.

VIDEO: Up to 2 30 second videos allowed. Videos should weigh up to a maximum of 2.2meg. Yahoo! can provide the video player which will contain a replay button, play/pause buttons and sound on/off buttons. SOUND: Sound after the click initiation of the exspondo can start straightaway with the video. The video player should include a sound on/off button, a video play/pause button and a replay button. These buttons can be provided by Yahoo!

FURTHER FLASH ANIMATIONS: Up to two flash animations can be included in the exSpondo area and will be loaded on click. Such flash animation should not weigh more than 40kb each and might include for example an area with links to downloadable files, a game, etc.

Upon click initiation of areas of the exSpondo, either on its expanded or unexpanded state, an additional wallpaper can be launched that will replace the first one.

Please provide FLA and fonts for all assets as well in order to be able to add custom code.
